Surviving a Riot

While Pat and I were driving home from dinner last night, we observed a large number of SAPD units, in a big hurry to be somewhere.  As we proceeded south, through the downtown area, we watched as the cops were blocking exit ramps along our I-37 route.

In light of what had been going on in other areas, since the killing of Mr. Floyd, in Minneapolis, it didn't take a detective to figure out SAPD was probably diverting traffic away from a downtown riot scene.

Since excitement over Covid-19 was wearing thin, in the San Antonio area, it looked like the Dynamic Duo of Ron & Nelson were going to get another bite of the fame-apple, with a good ol' down home race riot.

Have you got any ideas on what you might do to avoid problems with such a situation?

What's the best way to deal with being caught in the middle of such a riot, right here in your own back yard?

One of my favorite writers has some ideas from the perspective of an active duty law enforcement officer.  See what you think:

Surviving Riots and Political Demonstrations

Greg Ellifritz

This is an excerpt from the chapter “Surviving Third World Riots and Political Demonstrations” from my book Choose Adventure.  With the riots we’ve seen over the last couple days, and calls for more rioting this weekend, the information will be useful for you.  As our country descends into chaos, the advice from a third-world safety book might become necessary to survive our daily activities.

Train like your life depends on it.
