Staying Alive®:  Back The Blue

Michael J Arnold

Commentary:  "Back the Blue" is a catchy little phrase, but what does it really mean?

To some, "Back the Blue" could mean picking up the tab for an officer's lunch.  To others, it could be the simple act of respect of telling a person behind the badge, "Thank you."

When I started thinking about the phrase as something more than a clever little cliché, it became obvious that those who do the most to "Back the Blue" are the spouses of the officers.

So, here's the plan:

With the help and co-operation of SAPD Officer (and CHL Instructor) Monico Meneses, SAPD Det. Richard Hodge, and the Bexar Community Shooting Range, we will be hosting a CHL Class, Free to spouses of active SAPD Officers.

We will make the class available to the first 24 registrants.  The class will be held 0800, October 24, 2015, at the Bexar Community Shooting Range, in East Bexar County.

Additionally, we will make available to participants (on a day prior to the CHL Class) a no-charge Firearms Safety and Shooting Fundamentals class.

If you have questions about the class, please contact us at the "Feedback" link, below.

To register for the class, CLICK HERE.

Please pass this along to anyone who would be eligible.
