Vol. 6   No. 18

New Mexico Reciprocity

Before you mark New Mexico off the Reciprocal States list, they've revised their web site.

What I earlier reported:

Texas:  Concealed carry requirements are not substantially similar to New Mexico or at least as stringent, so Texas is not recognized by NM, was actually a 'cut-and-paste', from their web site.

Since that Newsletter, the verbiage on the New Mexico web site has been replaced with:

As we continue our audit and make changes accordingly, this page will be updated to reflect the most current information. This information is current as of May 1, 2012: New Mexico currently recognizes concealed carry permits from or has reciprocal agreements with the following states:  Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Delaware, Florida, Kansas, Louisiana, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia and West Virginia.

Confused?  What can you expect from politicians?

Add this to the confusion, Texas has since removed New Mexico from the Texas Reciprocity list.

What to do?  What to do?

Do this:  If you're planning a trip to New Mexico, call the NMDPS (505-841-8053), and get the concealed carry regulations du jour.

The following was recently recorded, from what was reported to have been an extraterrestrial radio transmission:

"No sign of intelligent life forms, here in Albuquerque - Let's check out Roswell."
